Kashmiri Filmmaker Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan Shines As Member Of Int’l Jury At NCIFF

Kathmandu: Renowned filmmaker and festival director of ‘Kashmir World Film Festival’ (KWFF), Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan made a remarkable presence at the 5th edition of the ‘Nepal Cultural International Film Festival’ (NCIFF) as a distinguished member of the International Jury. The festival took place in Kathmandu from March 29th to March 31st, 2024. As part of the International Jury, Mushtaaque joined the esteemed members Ljubinka Stojanovic from Serbia and Magdalena Juszczyk from Poland. They had an honor of selecting the best films showcased during the three-day event. Mushtaaque in addition to his role as a jury member also shared his expertise by giving a captivating Master Class on “Filmmaking: Navigating Challenges and Celebrating Victories.” His session provided valuable insights into the world of filmmaking, inspiring aspiring filmmakers who attended it.
The festival brought together a diverse delegation from various countries, including Eva Daoud from Bahrein, Proshoon Rahman from Bangladesh, Jan Schlenk from Germany, Arunachalam Vaidyanathan form USA, Nipon Dholua from India, and Mahera Omar from Pakistan. Sharing about his experience, Mushtaaque said, “Attending the Nepal Cultural International Film Festival as a member of the International Jury was one of the most memorable festivals of my life. The passion for cinema and the opportunity to connect with talented individuals from around the world was truly inspiring.” “The exchange of ideas and cultural experiences made the event truly unforgettable for all participants. It was wonderful to see talented individuals from different countries coming together to celebrate the art of cinema,” he said.
The Nepal Cultural International Film Festival (NCIFF) is a platform that celebrates the art of filmmaking, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting emerging talents in the industry. Renowned Filmmaker Mushtaaque expressed heartfelt gratitude to Santosh Subedi, the festival director of NCIFF, for extending an invitation to the remarkable festival. The event was organized by a dedicated team led by Nirajan Rayamajhi, Dinesh Jang Khadka, Padam and others who showcased exceptional talent and provided a memorable experience for all attendees. In a statement issued here, Mushtaaque commended the organizers for their meticulous planning and excellent execution, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable festival for everyone involved. “The team’s commitment to taking care of the participants was evident throughout the event,” he said. Furthermore, Mushtaaque took the opportunity to call upon the concerned government departments, corporate houses, and the business fraternity to step forward and extend their support to this remarkable festival. “With their backing, NCIFF can continue to grow and provide a platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their talent on a larger scale,” he said. Mushtaaque emphasized his personal commitment to supporting the festival in any way possible. His dedication to the arts and his belief in the transformative power of festivals like NCIFF underscore his resolve to contribute to its continued success.
