Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said it has arrested three militant associates in a joint operation with army and CRPF in Sopore and aso recovered a pistol and other incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police along with Army (22RR) and CRPF (179BN) at a joint checkpoint established at Fruit Mandi crossing noticed three suspects identified as Faisal Ahmad Kachroo S/o Farooq Ahmad Kachroo R/o Baba Yousuf Sopore, Aquib Mehraj Kana S/o Mehraj din Kana R/o Sangrama Sopore and Adil Akber Gojree S/o Akbar Gojree R/o Kushal Matoo Sopore who were attempting to flee from the spot, but the alert joint party apprehended them tactfully. Stating that during search, a pistol, mobile phones and other incriminating materials were recovered from the possession of the said accused, the Police in its statement further said a case under FIR No. 68/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides which further investigation into the case was also initiated.
