Jammu: Director General J&K Police R.R. Swain on Saturday sanctioned retirement gift of Rs 2.97 Cr in favour of 297 Police personnel retiring from services on 31st of March 2024 after attaining superannuation or voluntary retirement.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ J&K Jammu, the sanction has been issued in favour of eleven gazetted officers, two hundred twenty-seven non gazetted officers, forty nine lower subordinates and ten followers. The personnel belong to different units and wings of the department.
The retirement gift of Rupees one lakh each has been sanctioned to police personnel from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund at the time of his/her retirement. The gift serves as a token of appreciation for his/her services rendered to the department. Moreover, a parting gift of Rs. 40000 has been also sanctioned in favour of SPOs disengaged after attaining age of 60 years, as a welfare measure. This parting gift is sanctioned out of SPOs contributory fund in which regular police personnel also contributed.
