Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler along with huge consignment of Psychotropic Substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Safapora district Ganderbal.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a routine checkpoint was laid at Kulpora road near crossing by the Police Party of Police Station Safapora led by SHO Police Station Safapora and thereafter one suspect coming from Sumbal towards Safapora, after seeing police party tried to flee from the spot. Stating that the said accused has been identified as Feroz Ahmad Khanday S/o Gh Mohd Khanday R/o Qamarwari Bund A/P Shalteng, Srinagar besides which 100 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that the said accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, adding therein that a case vide FIR No. 06/2024, under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Safapora besides which further investigation was also initiated.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
