Shopian: The Office of the District Election Officer, under the leadership of District Election Officer, Shopian, FazLulHaseeb organized a comprehensive training session for the Volunteers of NCC, NSS and youth groups in the Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here on Friday.
The primary focus was to acquaint the Volunteers with detailed knowledge on essential election procedures.
Speaking on the occasion, DEO said that the Volunteers shall be tasked with assisting specially-abled persons, senior citizens and other special voters so that they can exercise their franchise with ease and comfort.
To make their access easy into polling stations, volunteers shall be handy in assistance of these voters, said DEO.
Trainers, while imparting training to these Volunteers, made them aware about guidelines and norms of election process and their role in assistance for the smooth and more inclusive election process.
The Dy. District Election Officer, Jahangir Ahmed, officers and officials of Election department and Volunteers in large numbers were present.
