Baramulla: Residents of Lacera village of Rafiabad staged a protest against PHE department on Wednesday.
A large number of people including women and men took to the streets and staged a protest against the PHE department for not providing them drinking water.
The protestors raised slogans against PHE Department for its failure to provide drinking water. They alleged that they are not being supplied drinking water on regular basis and some times they don’t see even a single drop of water for several weeks.
The inhabitants alleged PHE department for failed to provide us scheduled water since 6 months.
“We have no drinking water for past several days. The department has turned a blind eye towards the problems faced by people due to non-availability of drinking water,” an aggrieved protester said .
However the residents appealed the local legislator to look into the matter.
Meanwhile despite repeated attempts concern authority was not available for commits.
Meanwhile a Senior Congress Leader and Social activist Altaf Malik told kashmir horizon that despite being MLA Rafiabad from the current government, but still there are mother steply approach towards the constituency, whether it’s development sector, or it’s public issue in all front PDP is failed to redress the genuine issues of general public.
Malik told that for the welfare of society and for the betterment of constituency government should be serious and should wake up from deep slumber, Malik added that if government fails to do so we will hit the roads and for that government will be responsible.
