DDC inaugurates one-day Job Fair at G’bal

Ganderbal: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambiron Friday inaugurated a one-day job fair in the presence of Joint Director Employment, Kashmir, ZeenatAra at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal.
The job fair, organized by the District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) was aimed to provide a convenient platform for educated unemployed youth and job seekers to interact with potential employers for placement opportunities.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from job seekers and unemployed youth from the district.
During the inauguration, the DDC engaged with employers and job seekers, providing guidance for the best possible outcomes from such events.
Furthermore, certificates were presented to beneficiaries of recently concluded skill development courses, and appointment letters were handed over to selected job seekers on the spot.
Additionally, three Mumkin beneficiaries were provided with keys of small commercial vehicles, further empowering them towards self-employment.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to individuals who made valuable contributions to the success of the program.
The job fair facilitated the participation of over 300 job seekers and beneficiaries, with 53 job seekers being shortlisted on the spot by 09 different employers, and 04 candidates securing immediate employment opportunities.
Skill training institutes such as RSETI, NRLM, and Himayat had installed stalls for on-the-spot registration and awareness. Moreover, District Industries Centre and Handicrafts/Handloom Ganderbal registered candidates for self-employment opportunities.
Dr. Shabir, a certified motivational speaker and Technical Officer from the Sheep Husbandry Department, delivered an inspiring speech to motivate participants during the event.
The event was also attended by LDM Ganderbal, Shabir Ahmad; Director RSETI Urfana; AD Handicrafts/Handloom Ganderbal, Vice Principal GBHSS Duderhama, along with officials/officers from DE&CC Ganderbal.
