Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by SHO Police Station Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Tapper Bala Kreeri intercepted a vehicle (truck) bearing registration number JK05K-4663 with two persons identified as Muzamil Ahmad Lone S/o Late Gh Mohd R/o Wagub Sopore and Irshad Ahmad Dar S/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Dnagerpora Sopore on board , adding therein that during search, 168 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus & 12 syrups of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station Kreeri where they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Kreeri besides initiating investigation into cases, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reiterated that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
