Chairperson KVIB chairs awareness camp at Palli

Board releases Rupees 13.07 Cr. margin money for establishment of 593 units in Samba

Samba : Chairperson, J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, on Wednesday presided over an awareness camp cum interactive session with educated unemployed youth and aspiring entrepreneurs at Palli, Samba; a village adopted by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The programme was attended by Secretary/CEO, JKKVIB, Dr. Jagdish Chander, Executive Officer, Dr. Sandeep Kotwal, District Officer, Samba and Jammu, representatives from PRIs and large number of educated unemployed youth and aspirant entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat enjoined upon the prospective entrepreneurs to seize the opportunities being provided under government schemes and embark on the journey of establishing their own micro-enterprises.
She added that employment generation programmes viz. Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and JK Rural Employment Generation Programme have been designed to empower masses; thus fostering economic independence and driving positive change. She underscored the need for ensuring active engagement of stakeholders to make a meaningful impact on employment opportunities across J&K.
It was informed that during last three years and current financial year, a margin money of Rs. 13.07 crore has been released in district Samba for establishment of 593 units.
During the program, the officers from the Board gave detailed presentations about the modalities involved in implementation of JKREGP and PMEGP. The stakeholders and people were informed that these schemes are online and aspirant entrepreneurs can apply Online for Financial Assistance under these schemes.
Later, the Chairperson inaugurated the rally of e-rickshaws sponsored by the Board under PMEGP and JKREGP Schemes.
Appreciating the enthusiasm and passion of attendees especially women, the Chairperson JKKVIB advised the concerned officers to undertake discreet awareness and sensitization in the area to ensure maximum number of aspirants are covered under government schemes.
The Secretary, who also addressed the gathering, emphasised the imperative need for youth participation in various schemes aimed at fostering their socio-economic progress. He urged upon them to capitalize on the opportunities being provided by the board.
