Police rescues pregnant women amidst heavy snowfall in Sopore

Srinagar : In a commendable display of swift action, Police in Soporeon Tuesday rescued a pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall from Zethan to PHC Dangiwacha.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Shamshad Ahmad Mir R/o Zethan Dangiwacha Police in Sopore in a distress call to Police in Sopore on Tuesday sought urgent rescue and medical evacuation of his pregnant wife who was in critical condition, adding therein that earlier, due to snowfall for the second straight day the road was completely blocked and the movement of vehicle was disrupted.
Stating that upon receiving the distress call, a police party led by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, quickly reached the location and despite the difficult weather conditions and treacherous roads, the rescue team evacuated the pregnant woman in the official vehicle to PHC Dangiwacha for immediate medical treatment. In concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said locals, particularly the family members of the pregnant woman, expressed gratitude and admiration for the prompt response and timely assistance provided by Police during this critical situation.
