“Experiences have shown that the motivational skills of teachers play a key role in nurturing the talent of students but teachers in today’s academic environment hardly bother to use their motivational skills for nurturing the talent of students”.

Though teacher’s motivational skills play a central role in the performance of the students equally in both classrooms and as well as examination halls but unfortunately in Jammu & Kashmir the teachers both in schools and colleges don’t use motivational skills for inducing the spirit of performance among the students with the required sensitivity and intensity. While the motivational skills of teachers generate the spirit of willingness to do better among the students both in schools and colleges, unfortunately the school and higher education departments in Jammu & Kashmir don’t focus on use of motivational skills by teachers in classrooms in either schools or colleges. Experiences have shown that the motivational skills of teachers play a key role in nurturing the talent of students but teachers in today’s academic environment hardly bother to use their motivational skills for nurturing the talent of students with the spirit of exposing their potentialities for purposes of improving their performance year after year. Though teachers themselves know that future of students does not lie only in text books but they don’t tend to divert the attention of students from text book to real challenges of life in the fasting changing digital era. While challenges for the students change with the change in pattern of school and higher education, it is for the teachers to explain it to the students that new challenges throw up new opportunities for growth and development. It is for the teachers to make teaching-learning process a fun and don’t allow the stress to develop on the minds and hearts of the children.

“Though teachers have the capacity to use their experience and expertise to fill in many gaps in teaching-learning process both in schools and as well as college but the willingness to do so is not found among them at schools and colleges across Jammu & Kashmir. To make sure that teachers use motivational skills for nurturing the talent of students both in schools and colleges it is for Government to make mandatory for teachers the use motivational skills in classrooms  for nurturing the talent of students both in schools and as well as colleges”.

Rules can’t be framed for the teachers to use their motivational skills for nurturing the talent of students but teachers themselves have to apply motivational skills in the teaching-learning process both in schools and colleges to improve the performance of students on yearly basis. Though teachers have the capacity to use their experience and expertise to fill in many gaps in teaching-learning process both in schools and as well as college but the willingness to do so is not found among them at schools and colleges across Jammu & Kashmir. To make sure that teachers use motivational skills for nurturing the talent of students both in schools and colleges it is for Government to make mandatory for teachers the use motivational skills in classrooms  for nurturing the talent of students both in schools and as well as colleges.
