DC B’pora reviews functioning of Health Sector

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting aimed at assessing the working of the health sector and strategizing for its improvement.
The meeting discussed various critical issues of the health sector, including infrastructure, staff rationalization, availability of medical equipment and service delivery.
During the review, the DC emphasized the importance of enhancing healthcare services to meet the evolving needs of the public.
He stressed upon the concerned officers to identify areas of improvement to ensure quality healthcare services for all.
Shakeel ul Rehman emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and innovation to address the challenges facing the health sector.
He underscored the need for proactive measures to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure the well-being of all citizens.
The DC further asked the concerned to ensure 100 percent saturation of online services of Health Sector for service improvement.
He directed, to conduct camps in schools and colleges for successful implementation of the tuberculosis elimination program.
The DC also directed to ensure 100 percent coverage of Ayushman Bharat and ABHA cards.
CMO Bandipora informed the chair that Health Department Bandipora has attended 526831 patients through OPD and 70233 patients through IPD service besides conducting 1722 major surgeries and 6747 minor surgeries from April last year to January this year.
It was informed that Bandipora has achieved 100% target for registration of families under AB-PMJAY by covering all 73390 families and has achieved 81.46% target for beneficiaries registered under AB-PMJAY and SEHAT.
He apprised during the meeting that in the last 3 years, 7233 patients have been treated under AB-PMJAY, and 7219 claims have been approved, amounting to a total of Rs. 70551801.
He said that in district Bandipora, 102 health institutions including DH, PHCs, NTPHCs, and AAM SCs are functional.
Dr. Rafi said that 4864 institution deliveries were carried out in the district, including 833 C-section deliveries from April 2023 to Jan 2024.
The meeting also discussed programmes carried out by the Health Department including Anemia Mukt Bharat, National programme for control of blindness and visual impairment, National programme for Healthcare of elderly, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, National Leprosy Eradication Programme beside other key programmes.
Dr. Rafi also apprised the chair regarding various issues faced by the health department, including the shortage of staff.
The DC asked the concerned officers of the Health Department to explore the possibility of utilizing the services of trained professionals on a voluntary basis to temporarily compensate staff deficiency, if any, in healthcare institutions.
The meeting was attended by ADC Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandit; CMO Bandipora, Rafi Ahmad Salati; MS DH Bandipora, BMOs besides officials, administrators, and representatives from various healthcare facilities.
