Srinagar: Below is the timeline of the weekly engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha with major public events within and outside Jammu & Kashmir :-
On 5th February, Surjeet Singh Slathia, former Minister and In-Charge BJP Legal Human Rights and Refugee Cell J&K called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan. The former Minister apprised the Lt Governor on various welfare issues of the POJK Displaced Persons.
On 6th Feb, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the new office Complex of the Atomic North Private Limited at Durang Village, Billawar, Kathua. He congratulated the IT Services Company, the youth and residents of Billawar and adjoining areas on the momentous occasion. Sinha commended the Atomic North for its commitment to creating large job opportunities and fostering technological innovation in the region.

On Feb 07, February 06: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone of a new campus of Cluster University, Jammu. On the occasion, the Lt Governor congratulated the Vice Chancellor, HoDs, faculty members and students of the associated colleges of cluster university. He highlighted the significant role of universities and educational institutions in realizing the growing aspirations of the society and the nation.
On Feb 07, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha issued a statement on the historic occasion of passing of Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in Lok Sabha. “A historic day for Jammu Kashmir! Lok Sabha has cleared the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Tribes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024 to grant scheduled tribe status to Paharis, Padari Tribes, Koli & Gadda Brahmin, fulfilling the long pending demand of these communities. He said that under leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the government has ensured inclusion of these communities in the Scheduled Tribes list will have no impact on the current level of reservations available to Gujjars, Bakarwals & other tribes & they will continue to get reservations like before.
On Feb 08, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone of Synthetic Football Turf at Jagti Camp, Nagrota. The Lt Governor congratulated the young sportspersons and football enthusiasts on the occasion. The Synthetic Football Turf to be developed at a cost of Rs 5.75 crore, will include G+1 pavilion with a covered area having seating capacity of about 600 spectators, change rooms and other amenities.
On Feb 08, Dileep Sanghani, Chairman, IFFCO, GUJCOMASOL and National Cooperative Union of India Head along with key stakeholders from Cooperative Sector met the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan.
On Feb 09, February 08: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the inaugural session of the 6th J&K Agricultural Science Congress on “Diversification of Agriculture for Self-Reliant Mountain Agro-Ecology” at SKUAST Jammu. The Lt Governor welcomed the eminent scientists and researchers from across the country in the three-day conference. He said the exchange of ideas and discussions among the experts on critical aspects of alternative agriculture systems, digital agriculture, start-up culture, advanced veterinary science, innovation, and data sciences will help in addressing the challenges and exploring opportunities in sustainable agriculture.
On Feb 09, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the closing ceremony of 72nd All India Police Hockey (Men/Women) Championship at K.K Hakku Hockey Stadium. He congratulated the J&K Police and all participating teams. He also felicitated the best performing teams and players on the occasion. In his address, the Lt Governor lauded the significant contribution of the Police and Security personnel to the society and the nation. “I am proud of the Police and Security Forces. I bow to their magnificent heroism and selfless sacrifice to safeguard the country’s integrity and sovereignty,” he added.
On Feb 09, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 5th meeting of the Wildlife Board for J&K, at the Civil Secretariat. The meeting discussed various key interventions for sustainable management of rich biodiversity and integrated development of wildlife habitats. In-principle approval was accorded to several agenda points to further strengthen the wildlife ecosystem.
