Anantnag: Under the aegis of National Road Safety Month 2024, the Department of Rural Traffic and Motor Vehicles Department Anantnag on Monday organised an awareness camp on Road Safety at Bijbehara.
SSP Traffic Rural R.P.Singh was the chief guest. Besides DySP Traffic Rural Anantnag and MVD officials, the programme was attended by a large number of commercial drivers.
The main objective of the programme was to sensitize the drivers about road safety and traffic rules so that the graph of fatalities can be minimised.
On the occasion, SSP Traffic Rural Srinagar R.P Singh presented a holistic picture of road accidents before the participants and highlighted the role of discipline driving as key to avoid traffic crashes on roads.
He appealed to the drivers to follow the traffic rules in letter and spirit and avoid overspeeding and overloading in passenger vehicles to avoid Uri like incidents.
