Chairman & Secy DLSA, G’bal visit Subsidiary Jail, Dignibal

Ganderbal : Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey on Saturday visited Subsidiary Jail, Dignibal Ganderbal, to review the conditions of the prisoners and the progress of Pan-India Campaign- Restoring the youth.
The Chairman, DLSA Ganderbal was accompanied by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal and Sandeep Gupta, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal.
During the visit, Chairman, DLSA Ganderbal interacted with prisoners and listened to their grievances and received feedback for services provided to them.
The Chairman, DLSA, Ganderbal assured the inmates that their genuine grievances shall be redressed. He also informed prisoners that if any inmate is finding it difficult to get legal help, they can approach DLSA, Ganderbal for free Legal services as and when required.
He also reviewed the prison conditions with respect to health, sanitation, food and hygiene in addition to access to legal representation. Chairman, DLSA Ganderbal also emphasized the significance of safeguarding the fundamental rights of prisoners, ensuring their access to justice, and offering them adequate legal support.
Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal perused the record pertaining to inmates in order to supervise the progress of Pan-India Campaign and imparted awareness regarding the same.
Chairman, DLSA, Ganderbal issued on spot instructions to the concerned to ensure that the grievances projected by the jail inmates be addressed at the earliest and ensure that effective communication between the lawyer and the prisoner be made available and in cases of physical meeting at Prison, the prison authorities shall provide adequate space for lawyers to interact with their clients in a confidential manner.
DySP Headquarter Ganderbal, Ghulam Hassan, DO Nagbal, Rakesh Pandita, Deputy LADC Ganderbal, Sajid Irfan, Assistant LADC Ganderbal, Tanveer Ashraf, Incharge Subsidiary Jail Dignibal, Mohammad Rafiq ASI, were also present.
Sr. Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, on the occasion assured the Chairman, DLSA Ganderbal that the grievances of the inmates will be redressed and appropriate steps will be taken at the earliest.
