Poonch : A special camp titled ‘SVANidhi Se Samriddhi’ was organized at the Municipal Council Poonch with the aim of profiling street vendors and their family members and facilitating the sanctioning of government welfare schemes for eligible beneficiaries.
The camp witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary , who engaged with the street vendors, explaining varied schemes available and encouraged their active participation.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of the camp, stating that it was exclusively organized for the street vendors and urged them to take advantage of the government schemes. He advised the officers present to create maximum awareness and ensure on-the-spot benefits of these schemes to the eligible people.
The camp brought together officials from across all departments and banks under one roof, streamlining the process of loan sanctioning for the beneficiaries. This consolidated approach made it easier for the street vendors and their family members to access different schemes offered by departments and ministries. A total of 120 street vendors and their family members actively participated in the camp.
The primary objective of the programme was to map the socioeconomic profile of the PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families. It aimed to assess their potential eligibility for various central welfare schemes and establish connections to these schemes. The socioeconomic profiling of the PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families focused on collecting information regarding housing and other assets, health coverage and disability status, education, skills and employment, women and child welfare, banking and insurance, migration status, occupational categories of family members, aspirational mapping, and any other relevant areas.
District Social Welfare Officer, Mohinder Paul, CEO Municipality, Yaqoob Choudhary, District Project Officer (DUDA), Jaffar Abaas, DMEO, Qamar Qazi besides officials from bank, Labour deptt. Health deptt., Social Welfare Department. PMEGP, and other concerned departments were present.
