Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has attached property (double storey residential house and cowshed) measuring 1291.48 Sq.Ft and 1139.5 Sq.Ft and valuing Rs 25,62,425 lacs and Rs 67,8803 lacs respectively, belonging to a drug peddler namely Bashir Ahmad Khanday S/o Mohd Sultan Khanday R/o Nippora under section 68-F(2) of NDPS Act 1985.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam police, adding therein that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner.
Stating that the drug peddler was involved in Case FIR number 148/2022 of Police Station Qazigund, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement reaffirmed it’s commitment to combat the drug menace. Police in it’s statement also that people of the area have hailed the initiative taken by it with regard to the attachment of immovable property, which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Kulgam district.
