Flawless Verifications For J&K Selectees

A course correction left undone by successive popular Governments of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state for years together has been finally put in place by the incumbent Government under the leadership of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.

The grievances about the delays in verification of the character antecedents of the candidates selected by J&K Services Selection Board (J&K SSB) and J&K Public Service Commission (J&K PSC) from time to time are though taken serious by the Government at the highest level in Jammu & Kashmir but yet again such grievances of the job aspirants didn’t head to any dead end till now. A final decision on this count with zero tolerance against  adverse reports or any violation from any department would have brought long awaited respite to the job aspirants of Jammu & Kashmir long ago but a decision recently taken by the Lt Governor led Administration if implemented with absolute sensitivity by the administrative secretaries of all the department could bring a huge respite to the selected candidates of both J&K SSB and as well as J&K PSC in future. Taking a serious note of the grievances of the recently selected Police Sub Inspectors about delays in the verification of their character antecedents serious that went viral on social media sites recently the Government early this month directed all the Administrative Departments and appointing authorities to ensure completion of the verification of character antecedents of the selectees of both J&K SSB and as well as J&K PSC in given timelines. Since the J&K SSB and J&K PSC always ask the selectees to join before the appointing authorities in the given time, the apprehensions of loosing precious job opportunities always haunts them. In such a situation the onus of fixing timelines for the verification of the character incidents of the selectees also lies on the Government.  Fortunately the Government early this month not only ordered a time-bound verification process but has also authorised all administrative departments to appoint a nodal officer for expediting the verification of selectees in coordination with the authorities of CID. Such a mechanism once put into practice won’t lead to unwanted delays in the verification of the character antecedents of the selectees of J&K SSB and as well as J&K PSC.

“Since the security and intelligence agencies as usual have been given the liberty to take serious note of adverse reports about the character antecedents of any selectee under the new verification process of the selectees and also take stringent actions against the accused, the new verification process is not only hassle free but also foolproof and transparent. A hassle free and foolproof verification process with absolutely no scope for any lapse in thorough and transparent process of the scrutiny of the records of the selectees put in place  by the Government would bring long lasting respite to the selectees of both J&K SSB and as well as J&K SSB in future. A foolproof and hassle free verification process put in place for verification of the character antecedents of the selectees of J&K SSB and J&K PSC by the Government will now care of both the security concerns of the security and intelligence agencies and as well as the inconveniences of the selectees.”
