ADDC Shopian presides over mega Block Diwas at block Hermain, Listens to the people’s issues patiently

Shopian : The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone on Wednesday presided over a mega block diwas at block Hermain Shopian.
At the outset, ADDC sought feedback from the people about ongoing and completed developmental works and the schemes provided by the government.
The people apprised ADDC about their needs particularly lack of playfield, providing of Dustbins, street lights, people of Hajipora and Chakoora raised the issues which include, providing of drinking water facility, street lights, repairing of roads and people of DK Pora raised the issues regarding providing of playground.
After giving patient hearing to the public, the ADDC assured that all genuine demands shall be looked into on priority. He said that the District Administration is committed to ensuring provision of all facilities to the people.
Asserting on cleanliness, sanitation and behaviour change, the ADDC urged the concerned and locals to propagate the tenets of village sanitation by adopting good behaviour practices.
ADDC said there is a need to strengthen the mechanism for disposal of single use plastic and other garbage in rural areas. He reiterated that it is our responsibility to keep our surroundings clean and green.
Addressing the gathering, ADDC said that the concerned officers and officials shall be held accountable regarding the utility, feasibility and quality of all developmental works being executed in the district.
He directed concerned officers and field functionaries to be proactive, responsive, accessible and visible to the people in the field so that the purpose of the schemes is fulfilled.
While replying to the demand of the area for construction of a playground, ADDC directed concerned to take up the construction of a playground in Hermain and ensure its work starts in the same financial year so that the youth of the area do not face any problem in absence of a playground.
Among others, SDM, Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tehsildar, Hermain, BDO, Hermain, officers and officials of line departments and people in large number participated in the said block diwas,
