Reasi : An enforcement drive spearheaded by ARTO Reasi, Tara Mani, was on Friday conducted in Reasi town to bolster adherence to road safety regulations.
Under the Guidance and directives of District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, the team conducted surprise checking of several Passenger and private vehicles to enforce the Motor Vehicles Act.
During the inspection, 13 vehicles were identified to be plying in violation of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Consequently, fines were imposed in accordance with the law, amounting to cash retrieval of ₹ 8000 from compounded challans. Moreover, an anticipated sum exceeding twenty thousand rupees is expected from challans issued for multiple violations as per the MV Act.
While emphasizing the enforcement aspect, the Team also focused on driver awareness and education regarding safe driving practices. Drivers were sensitized on crucial elements such as the usage of seat belts, ensuring vehicle fitness, the dangers associated with mobile phone use while driving, adherence to speed limits, and overall compliance with traffic laws.
