Srinagar: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) continues to remain committed to fostering community development, as demonstrated by the successful extension of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) to two more locations within the Srinagar city.
The Yatra now encompasses Ikhraj Pora and Mehjoor Nagar vicinities, to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes.

Kathua : Prithi Chack a peaceful village in Kathua where lives Rampyari, an embodiment of resilience whose life has been profoundly changed by the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme. Rampyari vividly recalls the hardships her family endured living in a kacha house. VBS Yatra: Vikramjit holds public darbar at Assar, Vows for saturation of welfare, dev schemes
Doda : Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, on Thursday held a public outreach programme under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, at Assar.
The visit was aimed to address public grievances and demands besides educating people about numerous government welfare schemes as part of ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Secretary urged upon the people to take advantage of government schemes tailored for their socio-economic empowerment. He asked the officials to optimally utilize VBSY platform ensuring saturation of all central government schemes.
During the programme, various public representatives highlighted their issues which inter alia included upgradation of PHC Assar to Trauma Hospital, water sports in Trungul area, re-opening of Gypsum Mining in Assar, restoration of old National Highway in Assar, construction of Sub Divisional Secretariat in Assar, augmentation of roads, schools and other infrastructure.
Commissioner Secretary asked the ADDC Doda to compile and submit the demands along with their technical feasibility reports to his office, so that the same could be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
Representatives from various government departments provided detailed information, fostering enthusiasm and active public participation in these initiatives. The events drew large crowds, indicating active engagement and participation of the community.
Later, Commissioner Secretary distributed sanctioned letters of KCC and PMEGP among the beneficiaries besides presenting Soil Health Cards to the farmers. He also administered Viksit Bharat Pledge to the audience during the programme.

Under this initiative, the Mobile Vans are traversing through the district according to a pre-defined schedule.

VBS Yatra Van spreads PM’s message among residents of Panchayat Panjtoot of Block Samwan
Jammu : As part of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a special van reached Panchayat Panjtoot of Block Samwan, on Thursday amid a warm welcome by the members of the Swagat Committee, PRI Members of panchayats in presence of Ex MLA, Krishan Lal, Sarpanch Samwan Jagdish Raj ji, Block Development Officer Ajay Kumar Pandita along with officials of line departments and local public.
The VBSY Van aims to spread the message of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
The van displayed a video message of the PM, in which he has urged the people to take a pledge to work for the progress and prosperity of the country. The people present at the event took the Sankalp, and expressed their commitment to the cause.
The event began with the National Anthem and was followed by the cultural performances by the students of GMS Panjtoot, who showcased their talent and enthusiasm through songs, dances and skits. The audience appreciated the talent of the young artists and encouraged them with applause.
Representatives of the line departments also presented their stalls and explained the various schemes and programmes run by the government for the public welfare. They also distributed pamphlets and brochures to the people and answered their queries.
At the event, the public availed free health care services under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Kishtwar : Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Santosh D Vaidya, who is on two day visit to Kishtwar on Thursday participated in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Dool A panchayat of Nagseni block.
District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, ADC, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani and other departmental heads besides officials were present on the occasion.
Dr Devansh Yadav presented an overview of the ongoing viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the district besides highlighting the role of district administration in making this mega reaching out programme a grand success.
During the Yatra, the beneficiaries shared success stories concerning various prevailing Central Sector Schemes during the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” session, attended by Principal Secretary Vaidya and other district officials.
Amidst these engagements, Principal Secretary participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra proceedings, inspected departmental stalls showcasing citizen centric beneficiary schemes. He administered the VBSY pledge to the participants.
During the address, Principal Secretary emphasised the collective efforts of people, youth, officers and PRIs to materialize the vision of transformed developed India by 2047, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in this pursuit. He stressed the critical need to focus on infrastructure revamping, human resource development and social unity as the cornerstone of national development.
Discussing the transformative impact post Article 370 reform and successful navigation through the COVID era, Vaidya pointed out the substantial advancements in road infrastructure, water supply, health, water, hydro electric power, women’s empowerment, and mobile networks over the past five years in Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, J&K ‘s GDP surged significantly from Rs 1.7 lakh crore to Rs 2.5 lakh crore, he informed on the occasion.
Moreover, Principal Secretary termed the cultural and national integration imperative for nation’s development. He urged upon the citizens to work collectively towards women empowerment which significantly contributes in raising a developed India.
The event also featured a screening of PM’s message on Viksit Bharat, musical and cultural performances by local artists and Nagseni Cultural group besides distribution of IEC material.
Principal Secretary also handed over Abhinandan Certificates to some of the participants, sanction letters under HADP to eligible farmers and prosthetic aids including wheel chair and sticks provided by the Social Welfare Department for old age and PwDs.
Furthermore, a free medical camp organized by the Health Department Kishtwar provided medical screenings, consultations, and free medicines to numerous citizens, enhancing the community’s access to healthcare services.
