Govt. Polytechnic Jammu celebrates Annual Day, Felicitates students with distinguish performance in academics, co-curricular activities

Jammu: Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Jammu, on Friday organised a mega Annual Day cum Prize distribution function in the Auditorium Hall of the Institute.
The event also witnessed release of the 6th edition of college magazine “ASPIRE” by the Chief Guest – Director Skill Development Department J&K Sudershan Kumar, and Guest of Honour Managing Director JKSRTC J&K, Rakesh Kumar Srangal,.
The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished guests. Principal of the College Er Arun Bangotra read the annual report and highlighted the achievements of the college during the year 2023. In his welcome Address, he called upon the students to work with dedication and optimally utilize their skill to meet the challenges of the competitive world.
Sudershan Kumar, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the Principal of the college and staff for commendable performance in academics, sports, placements and organizing varied activities and workshops during the academic session 2022-23 and the release of 6th edition of college magazine. He also appreciated the excellent cultural program presented by the students.
A cultural bonanza was presented by the students depicting the rich cultural heritage of India. The cultural programme started with Saraswati Vandana by student Pooja, Shweta and group. This was followed by Dogri Dance by Sia and group, Patriotic Group Song “Sandese Aate Hai” by Gourav, Rudra & group, Fusion Dance by Pooja, Tanya & group.
A Skit on Nasha Mukt Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047 was showcased by the students of 1st semester. Arun & Kanav and team mesmerized the audience by presenting a Folk Song in their soulful voice and guitar.
Another attraction of the event was a Fashion Show depicting colorful dresses prepared by the Fashion Designing students of the college under the guidance of Surekha and Sanyogita Instructor IRG. In the end, an energetic Bhangra performance was presented by Gagandeep, Supinder & group which enthralled the audience.
The anchor of the programme was Karuna and Archita students, while the program was coordinated by a cultural committee headed by Rani Devi, HoD Information Technology Department.
Later, the prizes were distributed among the students who excelled in academic, sports and extra-curricular activities.
The faculty and staff members of the institute were also felicitated. The institute also felicitated Er Akash Kapoor alumni of this institute for this remarkable achievement.
The programme was coordinated by faculty Er Sakshi Kapahi, Chamel Singh, Er Amit Kapoor, Akash Disgotra and Itika Sharma. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Er Jasdeep Kour HOD Instrumentation & Control Engineering department of this institution.
Others present on the occasion were Er. Suket Gupta Principal Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu, Er K.S. Bhatia Registrar JKBOTE, Firdous Account Officer DSD, Er. Inderjeet Singh, Er Sukhdeep Singh, Er Manjeet Singh, Ar. Tahir Amin Wani, Er. Sanjay Koul, Er. Raj Kumar, Er. Raj Shekhar, Amit Kumar Sharma, staff and students of the college.
