Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore at checkpoint established near Ziyarat Shareef Syed Sultan Arampora Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Nissar Ahmad Changa S/o Ghulam Nabi Changa R/o Arampora Sopore and during search recovered 6.90 grams of Heroin like substance from the possession of the said accused who has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that the police registered a case FIR No. 304/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore and later initiated investigation into the case, Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reassured that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
