Kishtwar : In adherence to the National calendar and under the auspices of the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar orchestrated the 4th National Lok Adalat in District Kishtwar. The initiative, under the esteemed guidance of Chairman DLSA, Manjeet Singh Manhas, witnessed the resolution of a multitude of cases spanning Criminal Compoundable, Matrimonial, Maintenance, Civil, Recovery, Labour, MACT, Pre-Litigation, and other categories.
Three dedicated benches were established to address these matters, comprising distinguished members of the legal fraternity. The collaborative efforts of these benches, namely Manjeet Singh Manhas (Principal District and Sessions Judge Kishtwar) along with Advocate Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Mahmud Anwar Al-Nasir (Chief Judicial Magistrate), Touqeer Mushtaq (Advocate), Kartar Singh (Munsiff/JMIC Kishtwar) and Anjali Gulati (Advocate), culminated in the resolution of 610 cases out of 723 cases presented during the proceedings.
The commendable outcomes of the 4th National Lok Adalat manifest in the allocation of a total amount of Rs 2,05,22,689 to claimants across MACT Cases, Labour Disputes, and various other cases. This resounding success stands as a testament to the efficacy of the Lok Adalat system in delivering swift and amicable resolutions to legal disputes, fostering justice and harmony within our communities.
