Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs from their possession in Budgam district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in the night intervening 7th and 8th December this year Police Post Mouchua received a written complaint from one Vikas Kumar Pandit S/o Lt Ram Lal Pandit R/o Hindu Mohalla Kralpora Chadoora who alleged therein that while he was on way home from Chadoora, some unknown persons snatched his gold items worth Rs. 12.5 lacs and fled away from the spot, adding therein that a case vide FIR No. 253/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora following which investigation was taken up.
Stating that while acting swiftly, a Police party led by Incharge Police Post Mouchua, after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs the two accused persons identified as Aijaz Ahmad Khan S/o Ghulam-u-din Khan R/o Bagi-Mehtab Srinagar and Showkat Ahmad Khan S/o Bilal Ahmad Khan R/o Bagi-Mehtabh Srinagar at Pahalgam Anantnag were arrested and all the stolen gold items worth lacs were recovered from their possession.
Stating that the accused have been arrested and investigation have also been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
