Massive SVEEP Rally taken out in Kishtwar Town

Spearheaded by DC, 6000 citizens sensitised about ongoing Spl Summary Revision 2024

Students from GGHS School felicitated for proactive participation in mega event

Kishtwar : A mega Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) led by Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer Dr. Devansh Yadav was on Tuesday taken out in the district headquarters of Kishtwar.
The rally witnessed an impressive turnout, with 600 students and aspiring voters from different schools and government institutions, including GDC Kishtwar, Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar, ITI Kishtwar, Government Higher Secondary School for Boys and Girls, alongside several private schools, actively participating.
Key officers, Deputy DEO Kishtwar Naresh Kumar, ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, Tehsildar Kishtwar Muneeb Umar, CEO Kishtwar Prehlad Bhagat,Election NTr Sajjad Khan, SHO Kishtwar Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, Principals, and staff from educational institutions, in addition to officers and officials from the DC office and District Election Cell Kishtwar, were present and engaged in the rally.
The procession commenced from the Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar traversing through the main market, Main Bus Stand, streets of the town, Mini Bus Stand Kishtwar, Hidyal Chowk, and culminated at the Chowgan Ground Kishtwar.
During the rally, the participating students demonstrated commendable awareness efforts about the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll 2024. They fervently appealed to potential and eligible voters to register themselves as new voters under the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll 2024 before the deadline of 9th December 2023.
This proactive engagement by the young minds underscores their commitment to civic duty and highlights the importance of active participation in the electoral process.
During the event, DEO Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, praised the active participation of the attendees, attributing their enthusiasm to the resounding success of the rally. He mentioned that approximately 6000 citizens residing in the township and adjoining areas were sensitized about the ongoing voter registration and data modification exercise in the district.
In a concluding gesture, the girls’ contingent from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar received an award for their exceptional and proactive involvement in the rally. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the pivotal role played by students, particularly the girls, as ambassadors for raising awareness about the voter registration process. He underscored the importance of their efforts to ensure that no eligible voter remains unregistered.
