Event in observance of World Diabetes Day held at AH GMC Baramulla

Baramulla: The Department of Biochemistry associated Hospital GMC Baramulla organized a comprehensive event in observance of World Diabetes Day 2023, focusing on the crucial theme of “Access to Diabetes Care.” The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of providing equitable diabetes care for all, irrespective of their socioeconomic status or geographical location.
The highlight of the event was a free diabetes cum consultation camp, conducted in collaboration with the Department of Medicine GMC Baramulla. The camp offered complimentary diabetes screenings, contributing to early detection and intervention. Distinguished guests at the event included Prof. Dr. Shariq R. Masoodi, a renowned Endocrinologist in the Department of Endocrinology SKIMS, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Ganie, Director North Campus University of Kashmir & Dean Ayurvedic & Unani Medicine University of Kashmir. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ruby Reshi, Principal of GMC Baramulla, and Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, along with heads of various departments.
The meticulously planned event, spearheaded by Dr. Mosin Saleem Khan, Faculty Incharge of the Central Diagnostic Laboratory at GMC Baramulla, featured a series of lectures by top-notch clinicians and researchers from the valley. Additionally, MBBS and paramedical students from GMC Baramulla actively participated in a poster presentation session. Principal GMC Baramulla Prof. Dr. Ruby Reshi and Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, commended the efforts of the Department of Biochemistry and assured full support for the continuation of such valuable programs in the future. The success of the event was a testament to the dedication and tireless work of the entire organizing team. The World Diabetes Day celebration at Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla served as a significant step towards fostering awareness, promoting early detection, and advocating for accessible diabetes care for all. Such initiatives play a vital role in building a healthier and more informed community.
