Srinagar: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri Friday stressed on the officers to ensure Transparency, accountability and Responsiveness in the functioning of Patwaris.
Revenue Minister made it clear that those revenue officials who bring bad name to the department would be taken to task and removed from sensitive postings and honest, bright officers will be deployed at sensitive postings,
He was speaking at a meeting with All J&K Patwari Association here.
While termed Patwaris link between Revenue Department and Public, The Minister said major overhaul and initiatives are on anvil to change the perception of people regarding functioning of Patwaris.
He also said government is contemplating many steps to make the revenue department people friendly and accountable.
The Minister said serving people is the top priority of the present dispensation. To ensure people do not face any inconvenience for getting their revenue related issued resolved, the Minister asked the Patwaris to ensure their presence in their respective Halqas.
He said it is important to construct and designate revenue office in every Patwar Halqa. He asked the Patwari association to pace up the identification of 5 Marlas of land in their respective Halqas. The Minister informed the delegation that rationalization of Patwar Halqas will go a long way in easing out the process of seeking revenue extracts from Patwaris.
Stressing that creation of Revenue infrastructure is one of the thrust areas of Govt, Veeri also said Revenue Bhawan will be constructed at Srinagar and Jammu.
The Minister assured the delegation that all their genuine demands will be addressed.
