Academician Prof. (Dr.) G. M. Untoo delivers Invited Lecture at Islamia College Srinagar

Srinagar: As part of academic activity, a special lecture was on Friday delivered by Professor (Dr.) G.M.Untoo, former Principal Department of Higher Education, Government of J&K at Islamia College Srinagar.
At the outset, Principal of the host College, Professor (Dr.) Khursheed A. Khan welcomed the chief guest Prof. (Dr) G.M.Untoo to the College. He said that interaction with Prof. G.M. Untoo will help the students in particular and staff in general.
Principal added that leaders and academicians have been sharing great ideas and capturing the human imagination. Every leader has, in one way or another, influenced us to visualize a better future. But academicians like Prof. Untoo has entirely changed the way we see the world in the arena of higher education. He is the one who has inspired teachers and students the most.
Staff Secretary of the college Professor Ab. Majid said that such interactions by eminent personalities will help our students to understand how to overcome stress and look for a better future.
The Chief Guest Professor (Dr.) G.M.Untoo in his crisp presentation gave the broader vision about higher education, its strategies and policies for sustainable management of human resources and student intake.
While interacting with the students, he said that he believes that it would be better doing something challenging, something worthwhile, and something exciting to show the world that you are the students of great intuition ICSC.
Dr. Untoo added that every one of us faces failures in life whether it comes to family, friends, and relationships. Many of us have a fear of failure, many of the people become depressed of this failure but failure is a key to success. He added that, when we receive failures we become so sad, but we should realize that failures make us a better person.
He also sought to improve the policy framework through effective consultation with all stakeholders, including the academia and present dispensation of the college to address the grievances raised by students and staff.
Heads of the various departments while expressing their gratitude to the college administration for inviting Professor (Dr.) G.M.Untoo an eminent personality in the H/E Department, J&K. Large number of students from PG Botany, Zoology, Commerce, IPG & Hon’s besides students from other Departments actively participated in the event. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Javed Hussain, HOD, Zoology.
