Srinagar Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India celebrates Golden Jubilee

Srinagar: Srinagar Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India celebrated Golden Jubilee of the Institute at Central University of Nowgam Campus-I. The function was attended by the members of the Company Secretaries fraternity, students and some invited guests who listened to the lecture delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the CS fraternity in New Delhi.

The lecture was live-streamed at the venue of the celebrations. The Vice-chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir, Prof., and Mehraj-ud-Din was the chief guest on the occasion and the Registrar Prof. Mohamnmd Afzal Zarger as the guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor stressed upon the need for greater visibility of the profession and the operation of its chapter through organisation of sensitization programmes across the valley. He revealed that the Company Secretaries have a significant role in ensuring better corporate governance through a sense of accountability, transparency and efficiency. On this occasion, the Registrar of the Central University of Kashmir expressed his optimism about the growth of the profession in the State and offered greater collaboration with the Srinagar chapter to take the mission forward. The event was organised in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare of the Central University of Kashmir.

Welcoming the guests, the Dean Students Welfare of Central University, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nika who is also the Honorary Head of the Academic affairs of the Srinagar Chapter gave a detailed account of the activities of the Chapter and its future plans. The key note address on this occasions was delivered by CS Showkat Hussain Rafiquee , Ex-Chairman of the Chapter.  Prof. Javed Ahmad Kamili , HoD Commerce and Management Gandhi Memorial College  also spoke on the occasion. The Srinagar Chapter also felicitated the Chief Guest and the former and present Chairpersons CS Parvez Ahmed, CS Showkat Hussain Rafiquee and CS Mohammad Shafi. Thanking the guests, the Chairman of the Chapter CS Ghulam Jeelani Reshi expressed his optimism for greater commitment to promote the profession and extend every possible support to the aspirants seeking admission for the course.
