Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. DevanshYadav on Wednesday undertook a comprehensive inspection of ongoing developmental projects, with a particular focus on road infrastructure, within the block Mughal Maidan of Chatroo sub-division of District Kishtwar.
Accompanied by SDM Chatroo, Showkat Hayat Matoo, TehsildarKishtwar, Muneeb Umar, Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, NayeemIqbalSheikh,BDODheeraj Kumar, SHO ChatrooSandeepParihar, Er Sheikh Nisar Ahmad AEE R&B Chatroo as well as concerned AEE from PMGSY, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress and status of these key infrastructure initiatives.
During the inspection, particular attention was given to KK Loidhar Road, DadpethKuchhan Road and TagoodBasdewna Road.
At the TagoodBasdewna Road, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed by AEE PWD (R&B) on the completion of 5 kilometers of earth cutting by PWD. Dr. DevanshYadav instructed the executing agencies to expedite the work and ensure its timely completion.
Simultaneously, at the KK-Loidhar Road of PMGSY and Dadpeth to Kuchhan Road of PWD, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the ongoing crash barrier installation and black spot removal efforts. He emphasized the need for these works to be carried out promptly while preserving the existing BT (Bituminous Tar) works on these roads.
TehsildarKishtwar received directives to resolve any bottlenecks on the KK-Loiedhar Road to facilitate uninterrupted progress on this route.He stressed upon all the officers of PWD, PMGSY and revenue to have a comprehensive interdepartmental coordination for removing bottlenecks in smooth execution of developmental works to ensure their completion in time bound manner.
In another part of the visit, Dr. DevanshYadav, accompanied by BDO Mughal Maidan, Dheeraj Kumar, and his team, inspected the Solid Waste Segregation Shed in PanchayatMoolchitter of Block Mughal Maidan. The functioning of the facility was closely examined to ensure effective waste management.
Prior to this inspection, the Deputy Commissioner, along with Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, AmjadHussain Malik, Saffron Development Officer AmarjeetSen, and other officials from the Agriculture Department, visited the Saffron Development Farm in Berwar of teshsilKishtwar. They examined the first bloom of this season’s saffron crop and enquired from the Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) of the Saffron Development Office about the quality and productivity of the season.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that, for the first time, 30 kanals of saffron have been cultivated at the Saffron Development Farm in Kishtwar, marking a significant increase from the previous year when it was only 11 kanals.
DC Kishtwar also assessed the irrigation and other facilities at the farm.
Dr. DevanshYadav expressed his commitment to supporting the enhancement of saffron farming through advanced interventions.
