Kathua gears up for Back to Village-5 prog, DC reviews preparation for flagship public outreach event

Kathua: District Development Commissioner KathuaRakeshMinhas, on Tuesday chaired a review meeting regarding the preparations made by the district administration for Back to Village-5 program scheduled from Nov 8 to November 10 in the district.
It was given out in the meeting that the programme will be held across 257 Panchayats in two phases from 8th to 10th November 2023.
Under Phase-I, from 08-09 November 2023, 150 Panchayats of Block Mandli( 10), NagrotaGujjroo ( 17), DingaAmb(09), Barnoti(31), Marheen(22), Hiranagar(14), Nagri(12), Kathua(18) and KeerianGandyal(17) will be covered.
Phase-II of the B2v5 will be held from 09-10 November 2023 in 157 panchayats of Block Bani (17), Basohli(08), Bhoond(10), Mahanpur( 15), DharMahanpur( 06), Billawar(14), LohaiMalhar( 09), Baggan(07), Duggain( 09) and Duggan( 12).
Discussing different facets of the programme, the DC briefed about the activities which are to be undertaken by the Visiting (Parbhari) Officer during the visit to the allotted Panchayat. He further asked the district and sectoral officers to ensure representation of all line departments during the proceedings of Special Gram Sabhas to be presided over by the Visiting Officers.
Meanwhile, a sensitization program for designated officers was also organised in which they were acquainted with their role and duties during their visit to the villages.
