DC Kupwara chairs Mega Block Diwas at Tangdar

DC Expresses solidarity with the bereaved families of Road accident, visits KGBV Baghbaila

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Saturday chaired the proceedings of Mega Block Diwas at Sub-Division Headquarters Tangdhar.
Among others, SSP Kupwara, YougalManhas; DDC Karnah, NajmaHameed; SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather; BDC Tangdar; BDC Teetwal; District Officers, Engineers, Sectoral officers, Sub Division level officers, Sarpanches, Panchs and a large number of local residents of different villages of Karnah attended the public out-reach programme.
At the outset, a two minute silence was observed in the memory of 6 residents of Gabra village of Karnah who died in a tragic road accident. DC Kupwara expressed her solidarity with the bereaved families.
SDM Karnah gave an overview of Karnah in his introductory speech.
On the occasion, PRIs and local residents of different villages of Karnah apprised the Deputy Commissioner about their wide range of demands.
After giving patient hearing to the public and PRIs, the Deputy Commissioner assured that all their genuine demands shall be looked into on priority keeping in mind the budgetary provisions.
She said that all works of Capex and District Capex shall be completed within their stipulated time frame.
The Deputy Commissioner said that administration is making every effort so that Karnah Sub division looks lively this winter and difficulties of the people are minimised.
“We will ensure that Karnah road remains open as far as possible and an ample number of machinery and manpower will be kept available all the time during winters” , the Deputy Commissioner said.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured the local populace of resolving all their genuine demands.
The Deputy Commissioner said that Karnah is a very beautiful valley and for continuing the momentum of tourism in the region, collective efforts are needed to provide a conducive environment to tourists which should encompass eradicating drug menace from the area as well.
She urged the local residents, PRIs and Civil Society to co-operate with law enforcing agencies to put a complete check on drug menace so that lives of youth are saved from harmful effects of drugs.
Ayushi complimented Jal Shakti department for completing the first JJM scheme of Kranu at Tangdhar and providing clean drinking water facility to the people. However, she impressed upon the officers to improve the quality of work.
Public outreach cum interaction programme (Block Diwas at Tangdhar) had a huge response from local population and PRIs who appreciated Deputy Commissioner for bringing District administration on their door steps.
DC later visited KGBV Baghbaila, interacted with girl students and staff there. She distributed winter woolen clothes among students.
On her visit to KGBV, DC was accompanied by SSP Kupwara, SDM Karnah, CEO Kupwara and DIO Kupwara.
