Drug De-Addiction Sensitization Prog for PRIs, Teachers held at B’pora

Bandipora: As part of the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Bandipora Saturday held a Capacity Building Program at the Conference Hall of the District Drug De-Addiction Centre, here.
Participants in the event included members of the District Development Council (DDC), Block Development Council (BDC), Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), teachers, health officials, ASHA workers, ICDS, and other frontline workers.
The District Drug De-Addiction Center Bandipora, IA-JKSWM, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Bandiporaorganised this event.
Manager DDAC Bandipora, RehanaAkhter deliberated the aims and objectives of the DDAC and the event. A panel of experts spoke to the group, illuminating important facets of drug addiction and its effects on society.
DDAC, Coordinator, Showkat Ahmad shared his knowledge of the consequences of drug abuse. The coordinator gave a general overview of the amenities and services that are provided to patients without any charge, focusing on both inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) care.
DDAC Outreach Worker, Jawhar Ahmad emphasized the critical role that PRIs, instructors, students, and employees play in battling the drug problem.
Presenting medical aspects of drug abuse, Rukhsana Ali, Staff Nurse provided insightful information to the audience. ShabnumShaban, Counselor, gave a speech about drug addiction and the de-addiction process.
An engrossing PowerPoint presentation about the facilities and services at DDAC, bringing a multimedia element to the event was also presented by DEO, M. Hussain. Aside from the informative seminars, participants also received educational and informative materials, such as brochures and posters showcasing DDAC’s services.
Numerous participants including teachers, ICDS staff, health officials, and representatives from numerous other departments actively participated in the event.
