4 LeT/TRF militant associates arrested in Bla : Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it alongwith security forces have arrested 4 militant associates linked with LeT/TRF militant outfit and also recovered arms & ammunition and other incriminating materials from their possession in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a joint team of Baramulla Police along with Army (52RR) and CRPF (53Bn) at a checkpoint established at NaradhiriDangerpora junction on October 30 this year intercepted two suspects identified as Gh Hassan Mir S/o Gh Rasool Mir R/o Muran Tangwari Chandoosa and Mukhtar Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd Afzal Khan R/o Pinjwara Laridora Chandoosa, who on seeing joint party tried to flee from the spot but were tactfully apprehended, adding therein that during search, 1 Chinese Pistol, 1 Pistol magazine, 12 live rounds, 2 hand grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession.
Stating that police has accordingly registered the case vide FIR No. 68/2023 in Police Station Sheeri besides initiating investigation into the case, Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation and upon their disclosure, two more suspects namely Altaf Ahmad Rather S/o AbAhad Rather R/o Kawhar and Farooq Ahmad Naqeeb S/o Ab Gaffar Naqeeb R/o Kunzar were called for questioning and during questioning, both the accused persons confessed about possession of hand grenades. Police in it’s statement further said that upon the disclosure of the above named accused two hand grenades were recovered from the accused persons and subsequently arrested in the instant case.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that during further investigation, it came to surface that all the four accused were working for militant Associate Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ab Rashid Sheikh R/o Kunzer in the past, who is presently lodged under PSA, adding therein that further investigation is going on.
