Srinagar: To bridge the gap between police and public, Police on Friday facilitated Police Community Partnership Group meetings (PCPG) at Police Station Qazigund, Police Station Devsar and Police Post Frisal.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional officers and were attended by respectable citizens including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation, Fruit Associations of Frisal, Chinigam, Kujjar, NassuBadragund, QazigundDevsar, Pahloo and other adjacent areas.
During these interactions, participants raised various issues of public importance. Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, chairing officers assured them that genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their immediate redressal besides issues related to Police will be resolved in shortest possible time. The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and in identifying anti-national elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Addressing the participants, officers said that police is making all out efforts in wiping out the curse of drug abuse and other anti-social/national activities. Officers also exhorted the participants to come forward and support the Police in making Kulgam a drugs and crime free district, for which participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils besides, appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
