Pr Secy PDD holds public outreach camp at Doda, Flags off Amrit Kalash Yatra

Doda: In a bid to address the concerns and grievances of residents of Doda district, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD), H Rajesh Prasad, who is also Administrative/ Mentor Secretary for Doda, held a public outreach camp at DC office complex, here on Thursday.
The camp was conducted with an aim to enable direct engagement between government officials and the local community.
The camp provided an opportunity for the residents of Doda to voice their issues and seek redressal directly from the concerned authorities.
Various deputations who met the visiting officer included DDC Chairman and other DDC Councillors, BDC Chairpersons, Bar Association Doda, Doda Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Chenab Rescuers Doda, Chenab Citizens Forum, Contractors Association, and Hotels Association of Bhaderwah.
During the camp, heads of various government departments including Revenue, Police, Power, Health, Education, Public Works, Agriculture and allied departments, were present to address the concerns specific to their respective sectors.
Prominent people present during the program were DDC Chairman Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, DDC Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani, District Development Commissioner, VisheshMahajan, SSP Doda, AbdulQayoom, ADDC DodaPran Singh, ADC Doda Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, SEs of PWD, PDD, Hydraulics, PMGSY, and other district officers.
Notably, the most prominent issues revolved around power supply and its infrastructure, promotion of Tourism, JalJeevan Mission and other related issues.
Principal Secretary assured the public representatives that their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner.
Regarding power supply issues during winter, Principal Secretary explained that due to reduced water levels in rivers and other bodies, power generation decreases, leading to electricity purchase from other states to meet the demand. He encouraged use of government’s solar light program and emphasized the importance of PradhanMantriKusumYojana, which provides 90% subsidy for solar pumps for farmers. He also instructed the officers for ensuring completion ongoing NABARD projects.
Principal Secretary assured that all concerns and grievances raised during the meeting would be conveyed to the relevant department for resolution.
The public outreach camp was a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to connect with the people at the grassroots level and ensure efficient delivery of public services.
Principal Secretary expressed his commitment towards resolving the issues faced by the residents of Doda and impressed upon government officials to remain accessible to the public and responsive to their needs of the people.
The locals expressed gratitude to LG and Principal Secretary for organizing the camp and providing a platform for their voices to be heard. They appreciated the proactive approach of the government in reaching out to the community and finding solutions to their proble
H Rajesh Prasad reaffirmed government’s commitment towards development and welfare of the people of Doda. He assured them that their concerns would be thoroughly examined, and appropriate action would be taken up to address them effectively.
Later, Principal Secretary flagged off AmritKalashYatra for Jammu, before it’s further journey to National Capital Delhi, where the holy soil of the district shall become a part of AmritVatika. He also distributed motorized tricycles among the specially abled persons besides giving away sanctioned letters of land allotment for PMAY houses to the identified deserving beneficiaries.
