Srinagar: The Mahanavami was celebrated with religious fervor across Jammu & Kashmir while special prayers were held at Durganath Mandir in Dalgate where a large gathering of devotees thronged on Monday.
The Mahanavami Puja, dedicated to the Goddess Durga, is a significant festival in the Hindu calendar and holds deep cultural and religious significance.
Reports said devotees lit lamps, offered flowers, and chanted hymns, creating an aura of spirituality and harmony.
The temple premises were adorned with colorful decorations, and the fragrance of incense filled the air.
One of the devotees said the people of Kashmir are very loving and open hearted, and every one must know how much brotherhood and communal harmony could be witnessed in the valley.
Another devotee Arun Kumar, from Maharashtra said, “After celebrating Mahanavami Puja in the heart of Kashmir, I have experienced the true essence of unity and diversity.”
“It’s heartwarming to witness how people from all walks of life come together in devotion and harmony. This is a testament to the rich tapestry of our country’s cultural heritage,” he said.
Swati Sinha, a female visitor from Mumbai, said her visit to Durganath Mandir in Srinagar for Mahanavami Puja has been a deeply enriching experience.
“It’s inspiring to witness the seamless blend of faith and diversity. This gathering serves as a reminder of the unity that transcends boundaries and brings people together in a spirit of devotion and peace,” he added
