Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by Incharge Police Post Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Hyderbeigh Baramulla, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-5816 and during it’s checking recovered 132 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus from the driver identified as Mehraj Din Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Tarzoo Sopore who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody besides which the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered the case at Police Station Pattan and initiated further investigation into it, Police in it’s above quoted statement urged people to feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112 after witnessing any kind of such incident. Police also appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
