Sopore: The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Sopore has acquitted all the accused involved in the Case titled State versus Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir and another FIR No: 95/14 U/s: 302, 109 IPC & 7/27 Arms Act.
It has been already reported that 20th June, 2014 late in evening unidentified gunmen barged into the house of one Khazir Mohammed Naikoo and fired indiscriminately and killed his son and nephew (Nazir Ahmad Naikoo & Shabir Ahmad Naikoo). Police had filed a charge sheet against the militants but during the course of trial the complainant and his family members implicated one Mehraj-ud-din Khan as the main perpetrator, who was taken into custody in the year 2019. The case was hotly contested but after hearing arguments of all the sides the court , while acquitting the accused observed that the story of the prosecution and complainant is full of doubts, contradictions, improbabilities and inconsistencies and cannot be believed to be free from doubt especially amidst of there existing a land dispute between the accused Mehraj-ud-din Khan and the complainant. The State was represented by the APP, Complainant by the Adv AR Zaki and the defence was lead by Adv Aazim .
