JMC Mayor, Dy Mayor lead Amrit Kalash Yatra in city

Jammu: An impressive Amrit Kalash Yatra was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation commencing from Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial park which culminated at Gulshan ground, Jammu.
The event was a part of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign and is marked by patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Meri Mati Mera De”The Yatra received ‘Amrit Kalash’ from 75 wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation . The Yatra started with great fervor, aims to encapsulate the profound sacrifices and unwavering dedication that have shaped our nation’s journey.
At Gulshan Ground a massive map of India is created with humans holding Amrit Kalash received from 75 wards. The students of Schools/colleges wearing Tricolour caps filled the map. The map of India filled with humans presents a magnificent view and everyone present in the ground is thrilled and chanting patriotic slogans.
Mayor, Jammu, Rajinder Sharma graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria, ward councilors, retired army officials, Police personnel’s, JMC officers/officials, School/College students and prominent citizens of Jammu City also present at the occasion.
Later, the families of the brave martyrs were honored by Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioner and Joint Commissioner Administration.
Further, at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, JMC organized an impressive program featuring patriotic theme-based cultural performances and Nukkad Natak by local artists and students from educational institutions.
Speaking at the event, Mayor, Jammu expressed profound gratitude to martyrs and luminaries who have contributed to the nation’s progress, emphasizing the campaign’s significance in preserving their legacy.
“This visionary initiative truly summarizes our collective dedication to the cherished ideals of freedom and progress that have shaped our nation’s journey. ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ is poised to ignite a profound sense of belonging among every citizen. It is a call to action that seeks to inspire and empower, fostering a deep connection with our land and heritage while galvanizing individuals to contribute actively to the holistic growth of our great nation,” said Mayor, Jammu
