Jammu : Police on Monday said the it has recovered e cigarettes in Channi area of Jammu city and also arrested the accused in this connection,
In statement issued on Wednesday a spokesman of Jammu District Police said “An input was received at Police Station Channi Himmat through reliable sources regarding one person selling e cigarettes in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Channi Himmat Jammu”, adding that “In this regard, a case FIR No. 156/2023 U/S 4/7 prohibition of e Cigarettes ACT 2019 was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat Jammu and investigation was also initiated.
Stating that special police teams of Police Station Channi Himmat led by SDPO East Parupkar Singh assisted by SHO Police Station Channi Himmat Inspr . Neeraj Choudhary did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up the accused person namely Sarthak Anand S/O Anish Anand R/O Last Morh Gandhi Nagar Jammu who was selling the same at a shop namely elite smokers sec 7 Chhani Himmat Jammu, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that further investigation of the case is going on.
