5- Day Youth Festival ‘Sangam-2023’ commences in JU Bhaderwah Campus

500 Students to be part of massive conglomeration

Bhaderwah: Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Indian Army based in Bhadarwah, has organised a five Day Youth Festival “SANGAM 2023”, which commenced on the Campus this morning.
The SANGAM 2023, with the tagline‘ “Peace and Unity” was inaugurated by Brig. Sameer K Palande Commander 9-Sector in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Mahajan; SSP Abdul Qayoom; ADC Bhaderwah, Dil Mir Choudhary; Rector Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. Rahul Gupta; ASP, Vinod Sharma teaching facility, non-teaching staff of the Campus, besides a large number of functionaries of the Civil Administration, Indian Army, Police Department, Prominent Citizens, Principals and Teachers Of Colleges/ Schools.
The Mega event will witness the participation of more than 500 students and teachers from 24 Colleges, including Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu. Students from different educational intuitions showcased their skills in dancing and singing on the day of opening ceremony of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig. Sameer K Palande Commander 9-Sector congratulated the Army and Bhadarwah Campus for organizing this colourful bonanza. “The cultural programme presented by the students depicted mutual harmony and brotherhood which is an integral part of the culture of the Chenab region,” he said adding that the people of this region especially the youth should rise above the communal politics and secure a bright future for themselves and for this region. The Youth Festival is an appropriate platform to showcase talent. We hope the festival is successful and every year we can increase the stature and scale of the programme. The university has put in all efforts to make the programme successful,” he added.
Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. Rahul Gupta and CO 4RR Col Yogesh Chouhan, in their welcome address, congratulated the youth of Chenab Valley for embracing education and knowledge, leading to self-development and enriching society.
Rector Bhaderwah Camus said that Bhaderwah Campus, since its inception in 2006, has seen tremendous growth over the years. The campus was established with the objective to bring higher education to the doorsteps of the disadvantaged and hitherto excluded section of the society living in the remote hilly area of the region.
The proceedings of the inaugural function were conducted by Arif Haleem Khateeb ERO and Liaison Officer Sangam-2023. A total of twenty five competitions viz Debate, Sketching, Clay Modelling, Photography, Athletics, Chess, Badminton for girls, Quiz, Painting, Marathon, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Cricket etc will be conducted during the five days of Youth Festival. Several educational and motivational lectures will also be delivered by various dignitaries, including Rector, Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu.
