Reasi: Government Middle School Thakrkot, in collaboration with the Sankalp Saptah initiative, hosted an enlightening and educational symposium on Saturday, with the aim of reshaping the narrative from “Padegi Beti to Badhegi Beti.” This event, held at the Aspirational Block in Thakrkot, brought together students, educators, government officials, and prominent citizens, all sharing a commitment to the advancement of girls and women in society.
The symposium featured a range of activities, including a painting competition, a digital literacy program, essay writing, and a spirited debate centered on the theme of “Padegi Beti to Badhegi Beti.” These activities provided students with opportunities to express their views on the importance of education, healthcare, and gender equality, with a particular focus on women’s nutrition during pregnancy, regular antenatal check-ups, institutional deliveries, and infant immunization.
Sankalp Saptah, a comprehensive initiative, has seen the organization of a series of events like Swasthya Mela, Poshan Mela, Swachata Shivir, cleanliness drives, Shiksha Ek Sankalp (education-focused), Samriddhi Diwas (livelihoods), and Samavesh Samaroh across different blocks. These initiatives underline the government’s dedication to holistic development, encompassing health, education, and socio-economic empowerment.
The participating students from Government Middle School not only exhibited their creative talents but also articulated their insights into the theme, emphasizing the invaluable contributions of females in every field and their ability to shoulder responsibilities on par with their male counterparts.
Certificates and trophies were awarded to the outstanding students. The event was graced by the presence of BDO Thakrkot Kumar Gokul, representatives from the Education and RDD department, PRI members, prominent citizens, and a large number of enthusiastic students.
