Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has solved burglary cases by arresting an accused person and recovered stolen cash from his possession in Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police Station Awantipora received a written applications from two locals namely Irshad Ahmad Mir S/o Chandrigam Awantipora and Manzoor Ahmad Kuchay R/o Barsoo Awantipora, who alleged therein that some unknown burglars have stolen cash from their CSC Centres located at village Chandrigam and Barsoo.
Stating that cases vide FIR numbers 197/2023 and 198/2023 were registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Awantipora besides which investigation was also initiated, Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, the SHO Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti conducted inspection of scene of crime and analysis of CCTV footage following which the accused was arrested and identified as Rameez Ahmad Naik S/o Gh Mohd Naik R/o Bhan Kulgam who after questioning confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
Police in it’s furthermore said on the disclosure of the said accused stolen cash of Rupees 150000/- was recovered from his possession during further course of investigation.
