Jammu: Gandhi ji Global Family organised “Peace Festival” to pay obeisance to father of nation on his birthday anniversary at Diwan-e-Aam Mubarak mandi , Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, presided over the peace festival.
In his presidential address , Dr. Bhandari said that it is very difficult to achieve external peace unless we achieve the internal peace which is only possible through meditation, tolerance and patience. We must realise that philosophy of Gandhiji is more relevant in present times as entire world has realised the importance of Gandhian principles for sustainable peace in the world and it is a matter of pride that as a recognition to these values this day is declared as International day for non-violence.

Dr. Bhandhari also present Gandhi Sewa medals to Hasan Parwaz AIR and Ravi Kant Sharm AIR for their contributions for promotion of Gandhian philosophy.
The major attraction of the peace festival was the presentation of flags of 193 countries associated with united nation. The students of various schools were carrying these flags of various nations as a peace ambassador
Padamshree Dr. S.P. Varma president GGF Presented welcome address and informed that during this peace festival 100 ideas for sustainable peace shall be presented to the society.
Wing Comdr. (Retd.) M.M.Joshi presented vote of thanks and said that GGF is organising this programme for the last 27 years continuously as a big programme of the state of its kind in which about 2000 people participated .
The peace festival was also marked with sanskritic, cultural musical programmes and culminated with national anthem.
92.7 big fm also organized a quiz competition on Gandhian life .
