Dir Horticulture(K) visits FPN Zangam Pattan; takes stock of ongoing activities

Srinagar: The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir on Friday visited departmental fruit plant nursery (FPN) Zangam Pattan in district Baramulla to take stock of various ongoing activities undertaken by the department to produce the quality fruit plant material.
Director during his visit asked for the overall review from the officers in charge in order to address the requirements and fulfill the deficiencies.
During the inspection of the said nursery, the Director said that the nurseries are the power house of the department which not only propagate planting material of worth of standard and quality, but actually works as demonstration center of the department. Therefore nurseries of the department must be upto the mark in each and every aspect.
He emphasized upon the officers and officials to put their every effort to make it a vibrant center for propagation of fruit plant material and demonstration as well.
Director passed on spot instructions to the in-charge nursery and other staff that any laxity in performing their duties shall not be accepted. Department will provide every support to make this center a model nursery, so that it can become attraction for public, he added.
