DLSA collaborates with civic bodies to conduct sanitation drives at Kathua, Lakhanpur

Kathua: As per the directions of the JK Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) and under the radiant guidance and overall supervision of Ashok Kumar Shavan Chairman DLSA (also Principal District & Sessions Judge), Rekha Kapoor Nischal Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Kathua organized sanitation drives in collaboration with Municipal Council Kathua and Municipal Council Lakhanpur around DC Office and New Toll Plaza Lakhanpur which were manned by the staff of New Toll Plaza, locals and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Kathua.
Besides this, an Awareness Program under the theme“Hara Geela, Sookha Neela: 2-Bin System” was also organized by DLSA Kathua at Panchayat Ghar Logate wherein the Resource Person Rajesh Kumar Panel Advocate, DLSA Kathua highlighted and discussed the importance of source segregation to promote effective recycling and waste management under Swachta Hi Sewa Campaign (SHS) 2023.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Sarpanch, Raja Ram. Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Kathua, Panches, and locals were also present in the awareness programme.
In addition to this, a Swacchta Pledge Taking Event was also organized by DLSA, Kathua in collaboration with District Administration Kathua at Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Kathua in the presence of school staff, students and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Kathua as a commitment towards making India Garbage Free.
The objective of organizing all these programmes/activities was to encourage individuals to adopt simple changes in their daily life that can contribute in maintaining better cleanliness in the surroundings on implementation of Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign (SHS) 2023, to disseminate the importance of Sampoorna Swachh Kathua and to reinforce the concept of Sanitation as everyone’s business make aware the local masses of the District Kathua.
