Central Bureau of Communication Empowers Communities Through “Swachhta Hi Seva 2023” Awareness Prog in Ghat- Doda

Doda: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in another significant step towards promoting cleanliness and hygiene, organized an impactful programme on “Swachhta Hi Seva” at Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghat as part of the nationwide campaign. The enlightening initiative, which was graced by the presence of Mohammad Ashraf Wani, District Information Officer as the Chief Guest.
“Swachhta Hi Seva 2023” is a nationwide campaign dedicated to fostering awareness and responsibility towards cleanliness and sanitation. The event in Ghat, Doda, saw enthusiastic participation from the local community and students, who actively engaged in various activities aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
Vice principal GHSS GHat, Tahir Ashraf Wani, Bhushan Lal senior lecturer GHSS Ghat, Mohd. Ilyas Wani, Ramesh Kumar, were esteemed guests at the event & acted as resource persons and shared their insights and encouraged the participants to actively engage in cleanliness initiatives. Resource persons delivered expert lectures on various aspects of cleanliness and hygiene, educating the audience on best practices and the importance of a clean environment.
In-charge CBC Doda Circle, Vikram Uppal briefly highlighted the department’s vital role in facilitating communication between the government and the public. The Central Bureau of Communication is committed to bridging the gap between government initiatives and the citizens they serve, ensuring that important programs and campaigns, such as “Swachhta Hi Seva,” reach every corner of society.
The Chief Guest lauded the Central Bureau of Communication for its tireless efforts in driving the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He encouraged the students to become torchbearers of cleanliness in their communities. He also emphasized the importance of instilling cleanliness habits from an early age and empowering communities to take ownership of their surroundings. He emphasized the pivotal role of such initiatives in creating a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous India.
Participants enthusiastically joined a cleanliness drive, actively cleaning the school premises and its surroundings Sports Ground. This hands-on approach demonstrated the commitment of the community towards a cleaner and greener future.
Attendees took the Swachhta pledge, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining cleanliness and spreading awareness about its significance.
To facilitate waste segregation and disposal, dustbins were distributed among the attendees, ensuring that waste management practices improve in the area.
Students and teachers worked hand in hand, exemplifying the importance of teamwork and community involvement. This collaboration promoted a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness among the youth. In a remarkable display of community spirit, participants engaged in shramdaan, voluntarily contributing their time and effort to the betterment of their surroundings.
Other key activities organized during the programme included, Drawing Competition, Young artists displayed their creativity and imagination through a drawing competition. The theme revolved around the importance of cleanliness, environmental preservation, and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’s core values. Rally at Ghat Town; A vibrant rally through the streets of Ghat town was organized to create awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and encourage active participation from the community. The rally was filled with colorful banners, enthusiastic participants, and informative slogans.
The “Swachhta Hi Seva 2023” Awareness Programme at GHSS Ghat, Doda, was a resounding success, with participants leaving with a renewed sense of responsibility towards cleanliness and hygiene. It highlighted the power of collective efforts in achieving the goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
