Women’s College Sopore Shines Bright: 3 Students selected as NEP SAARTHI Ambassadors by UGC, New Delhi

UGC writes to varsities across country to ensure safety of Kashmiri students

Baramulla: The Government Degree College for Women Sopore has gained significant achievement as three of its outstanding students viz. Mehvish Fayaz Wani, Haya Azad and Nuzhat Afrooz of Academic Batch 2022 have been selected as NEP SAARTHI Ambassadors by the University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi.
This nomination has been achieved under the exemplary guidance of Principal Prof. Bashir Ahmad Paray and close supervision of Prof. Zubair Sayeed Masoodi, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications and NEP Coordinator of the college,
Secretary University Grants Commission in its letter D.O. No. F. 1-30/2023 (NEP) September 21, 2023/ 30 has conveyed this nomination to the principal of the college.
The NEP SAARTHI initiative, introduced by UGC, is a visionary program aimed at engaging students in reshaping higher education in India by implementing the transformative provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Out of a pool of 484 nominations from universities, colleges, and institutions across the nation, Government Degree College for Women Sopore takes immense pride in the selection of three remarkable students, as NEP-SAARTHI.
Principal of College & Coordinator NEP expressed joy and said, “We are immensely proud of our students for being selected as NEP SAARTHI Ambassadors. Their unwavering commitment to academic excellence, combined with their exceptional leadership qualities, has earned them this prestigious recognition. We have every confidence that they will play a pivotal role in promoting academic reforms and contributing to the successful implementation of NEP 2020”.
